Saint John's

LENTEN PRAYER GROUP centered around meditations from Kate Moorehead’s book Organic God: Lenten Meditations on the Words of Jesus. The group will meet for prayer, worship, and community each THURSDAY AT 4PM DURING LENT. The first meeting will be Thursday, February 23rd. All meetings are at St. John’s.

NOTE: The books aren’t in yet (ordering mistake), but the reflections are very short (2 pages), so we will catch everyone up at the first meeting.  Books will be available soon.

THIS SUNDAY AT ST. JOHN’S

The Rt. Rev. Mark Hollingsworth, Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Ohio, will visit St. John’s.  We will also celebrate several baptisms, confirmations, receptions, and reaffirmations.  A festive reception will follow.

On Sunday, February 5th at the 1030AM Eucharist, St. John’s will celebrate the tradition of “shape note singing”.  Nathanael Welch, a member of our choir and a graduate student in the Dana School of Music at YSU, will help lead the congregation in this traditional and hauntingly beautiful style of sacred music.
